About HyrePest
HyrePest is an independent information site for homeowners with a pest problem. We explain identification, treatment, cost and contracts from named, dated sources. We treat, inspect and apply nothing. Matching with pest control companies is not live yet, and no companies are signed up.
Who writes it. The HyrePest Research Desk. There are no named authors and no reviews, and no company can pay to shape or place anything we publish.
What is HyrePest for?
HyrePest gives you what you need for a clear talk with a pest control company. That means how to tell what you have, what drew the pests in, what each treatment involves, what moves the price, and how to read a contract that renews itself.
When we can, we plan to connect you with local pest control companies. That part is still being built. The guides and tools are open to everyone now.
What does HyrePest do?
- Explains the job. What each kind of pest control work involves and what to ask. Start with the ten pest control services.
- Explains the contract. Term, renewal, cancellation and what a guarantee covers. See pest control contracts.
- Offers free calculators. Pest control tools that work on your own numbers. No email needed.
- Helps you hire well. Ten checks to make before you sign anything.
What does HyrePest not do?
- No pest control work. We do not inspect, treat, apply, fumigate or bond, and we hold no applicator license.
- No directory. We publish no company profiles, ratings or rankings, because none would be fair today.
- No pesticide advice. We do not recommend products, tell anyone what to apply, or publish application steps.
- No diagnosis. No tool here confirms a species or clears a building. Your state extension service identifies pests, and a licensed inspector reports on a structure.
- No legal advice. Contract and consumer rules vary by state. Your own agreement governs your situation.
- No emergency help. With an active problem, a local company is faster than we are. Call one directly.
How does HyrePest expect to be paid?
We expect to earn money by introducing homeowners to pest control companies. You are never charged. When that is live, this page will say so. It will not change what we say about spray schedules, auto-renewal, retreatment-only guarantees or door-to-door selling.
Where this stands today. No company has paid for placement on this site, and no referral deal has shaped a single sentence. Matching is not live, and no pest control companies are signed up.
What standard are the pages written to?
- Primary sources first. Safety, product and identification claims cite federal agencies, pesticide information centers, state regulators and university extension services. The fact base was last checked on September 5, 2026.
- One fact base. Figures and quotes live in one file that every page reads from, so a tool and a service page cannot say different things.
- No invented numbers. We hold no dataset of pest control invoices, so we publish no average price. Every dollar figure in our tools is a rate you typed, times a quantity you typed.
- No scare copy. Nothing here is written to frighten you into a contract. Where the honest case is a health one, we make that case instead.
- Gaps stay visible. What we could not verify is labeled unverified, on the page.
- No invented people. No made-up authors, credentials, stock-photo experts or testimonials.
The full rules are in our editorial policy.
What did we look for and could not confirm?
We looked for each item below, up to September 5, 2026, and could not confirm it. None of them appears as a claim anywhere on this site.
- A rat gap-size figure from a live CDC page. CDC’s current rodent-proofing page gives a size for mice only. The rat figures in circulation trace to an archived CDC page and to university extension pages that disagree with one another. No rat number is published on this site.
- That bed bug pesticide resistance is widespread or increasing. EPA names resistance as a variable affecting whether a treatment works. We did not retrieve an EPA page stating that resistance is widespread, so this site does not say so.
- That EPA says a single bed bug treatment cannot work. No such sentence exists on the EPA pages we retrieved. The verified substitute is EPA’s own: weeks to months, you may have to repeat the steps, and keep inspecting every seven days.
- That EPA says routine monthly exterior spraying is wrong. No such sentence exists. What EPA publishes is a hierarchy that puts prevention first, and consumer guidance telling you to ask a hired professional to find and correct the source before applying pesticides. That is what this site says, and no more.
- A state rule requiring pre-construction termite pre-treatment disclosure. We found Georgia’s contract and guaranty disclosure rule but no state rule mandating a pre-treatment disclosure, so this site claims none.
- QualityPro accreditation criteria. Not retrieved. This site therefore makes no claim about what the accreditation requires.
- Two license-lookup URLs. The California department-wide search at search.dca.ca.gov would not load for our automated check, and an older FDACS company-search address did not respond at all. Neither is published. The Board and portal addresses that did respond are used instead.

A mailing address for a national information site, not a pest control office.
hyrepest.com is one of the HYRE sites. Each covers one field, and none of them does the work it writes about.
How do I report a mistake?
Email hello@hyrepest.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. Every fact carries a source and a date so that it can be checked. If a source has moved, a rule has changed or a sentence overstates its source, we fix it and say that we did.
The contact page lists every way to reach us. If you run a pest control business, read the page for pest control companies.
